Evelyn H. Lauder, 75, died on November 12th, from complications of cancer.
She was surrounded by her family at her home in New York city.
After being a public school teacher, she married Leonard A. Lauder in 1959 and joined the small family cosmetics comany.
Investing herself and taking on many roles, she participated to the the wonderful succes story of the company.
Mrs Lauder is also well-known for her work and engagement to the breast cancer’s cause, probably because she experienced an early stage breast cancer. In 1992, she co-created the Pink Ribbon, now recognized as the worldwide symbol of breast cancer and launched the Estée Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign.
