Chinaʼs hotel business is moving ahead even faster. With more than 400 top hotel projects, representing over 119 000 rooms under construction, the total investment hits the top mark of about 20 bn euros.

Most of them are built in Macao, the chinese Las Vegas, such as: Sheraton at Cotai Strip (4 000 rooms), Holiday Inn (1 224 rooms) and St Regis (889 rooms). Hilton Worldwide focuses on China by developing six upscale hotel and resorts.

The largest hotel project is the Conrad Macao with 636 rooms. Mariott continues to accelerate in China. The largest project of the US hotel chain is the Macao Studio City Mariott Hotel with 968 rooms. The casino hotel will be located alongside the famous Cotai Strip of the gaming megacity and is due to open un automn 2014.
