GUAYAPI, 2011 Innovation Awards

GUAYAPI, a cosmetics and natural food products’ brand, won the Innovation Award decerned by the Union for Ethical BioTrade (UEBT) on November 29th in Paris.

 The UEBT aims to promote ethical biotrade. The jury is composed of international actors of sustainable development includong WWF Brazil, Organic Monitor, or Forum for the Future.

Since its creation in 1990 by Claudie Ravel, Guayapi works for the recognition and appreciation of plants coming from their homeland in three basic criteria: biological, ecological and social.

 In 1995, Guayapi embarked on an ambitious project in equal partnership with the Indians Sateré Mawé, who discoved and still cultivate Warana (the original name of guarana).

Guarana is known and recognized for its properties as a dietary supplement food. As part of this project, Guayapi works directly with the General Council of the Tribes Sateré Mawé, and values the ancestral knowledge and traditions.

Faithful of COSMEETING PARIS, Guayapi reported thanks to Bastien Beaufort, that their ambition is to transform what is now considered as an innovation into a rule.
