The green material is bubbling at the Beyond Beauty lab 2011

Biotechnology and green chemistry are the key words of space animated by the best experts in the “green” material. Greentech, Natur’alps, Solabia presented their program, but there will also :

Minasolve : green and renewable

Minasolve has officiated for more than 70 years in green, renewable chemistry using by-products of corn and sugar cane crops, from which we derive green solvents obtained by hydrogenation. At CREATIVE, Minasolve will have the chance to share this long tradition and explain how green chemistry enables it to replace a certain number of conventional ingredients. The aim of the talk is to cross market and technological approaches to find a maximum of synergy.

Stéarinerie Dubois: Going green, effective, and safe

Specialized in perfecting esters using “clean” production processes, Stéarinerie Dubois is developing a wide range of plant and synthetic molecules. Madame Loubat Bouleuc explains that “knowledge of raw materials of plant origin is still incomplete. For us green chemistry is a guarantee of harmlessness and quality. Our aim is to combine a green spirit with effectiveness and safety. We are moving towards reasonable and sustainable chemistry.” The aim of this talk is to improve knowledge of these molecules to bring about greater mastery of raw materials.

Institut du Monoï

In teaming up with the Herboretum Federation initiated by Alban Muller, l’Institut du Monoï will explain why and how to endorse its initiatives by contributing to preserving and valorizing the unique resources of Tahiti and its islands. The varied geological situation of this region of the world and its considerable plant resources (60% of its plants are native) make it a reservoir full of interest for cosmetics formulations. The first site to be included in the Herboretum Federation will be the botanical garden of Motu Ovini, including more than 400 plant species. The plants used in making Monoï are the subject of functional and sensory studies and are placed in parallel with traditional Maori recipes. This talk shows us how to perpetuate and development knowledge about monoï in order to inspire the forming of new beauty and wellness regimens.
