Estéban goes natural for private labels

Renowned as a brand that creates perfumes, Estéban entered the private label business five years ago – a growing business, according to Laurent Pichon, Production Manager. “In 2010 , our objective is to attain 10% of our business in this segment”, he says. The company thus targets either brands – for instance, Baccarat, for which it created a collection of candles, or distribution networks, such as Beauty Success – and is able to develop global concepts, from the creation of a perfume to its graphic image…  “Ours is one of the few companies that possess a combination of savoir-faire in perfume, marketing expertise and production.  It is this proficiency in the entire chain that clients come to us for “.  An expertise that has now been extended to the natural sector.  The candles will be eco-compliant at the end of 2010, but in the meantime Esteban has forged ahead with tests for real natural perfumes, “free of essential oils”, which are in the process of certification.  “On this subject, we are working on two main axes – the perfume in itself, and the issue of cost”, the Production Manager points out.  What has the private label activity contributed to the company, besides furthering business development?  “Partnerships with brands that are slightly lower than luxury brands compelled us to be more competitive; on the other hand, our association with more qualitative, more demanding brands, helped us to progress further in terms of quality”, he claims.
