A bit of gentleness in the world of balms

For the lips, hands and feet, balms exist for all parts of the body, all tastes, all fragrances, all types of effectiveness and distribution channels.

• The Israeli company Moraz has built its offer based on polygonum, alias knotweed. In this medicinal plant rich in tannins, salicylic acid and flavonoids, it finds the vitamins, minerals and other ingredients with the antioxidant properties  necessary to its products, which are available in pharmacies. Prior to its all-new tanning range with Polygonum and oil of sea buckthorn – the first to protect from UV rays while repairing damage to the skin by the sun – it developed balms whose new virtues it discovered as time went on. Thus its Baume Réparateur Corps (€14.50 per 50-ml tube) significantly improves atopical dermatitius and could – if the results of the student presented at the end of April 2010 attest so –  be beneficial in the case of cracked skin, chapped skin, chemical and heat burns, post-surgical scarring. Its lip balm seems to act against labial herpes.

• Inspired by the beauty recipes of Vietnam but made in France, Bi Mat Cay’s plants and essential oils are found in four products: cajuput, clove, camphor, mint, menthol and cinnamon are in its Baume Miracle, whose task is to sooth little muscular aches and pains; green tea and juniper are in the Dermo Baume, the remedy for small aggressions to the skin; eucalyptus, menthol, campher and lavandin are in the Mani Baume for cracked hands and feet; cacao butter, beeswax, camphor and menthol are in its Lip Balm. All four come in small round jars, real invitations to travel (€6.50 for a 6-g jar).

• For the lips only… With Treat’Em Right, Aubrey Organics has concocted five 100% natural balms, available in five fresh, acidic fragrances: mint, peppermint and tea tree, mandarin, raspberry, vanilla and honey.  Rich in antioxidant eglantine oil, beeswax, oils of coconut, olive jojoba and hemp, all obviously organic ingredients, these colorant-free balms with no artificial aromas are organic certified by USDA Organic and are available exclusively at:

www.cosmaterra.fr at the price of €4.95 seach.
