The fight against glycation does not stop with skincare. It’s also the new fight in hair care. Shiseido has discovered that glycation can also affect hair and weaken the cortex, resulting in split ends and broken hair fibers. Excess of sugar is evacuated through the capillaries and melts into the keratin fiber located in the cortex. Shiseido calls this the hair’s “metabolic symptoms,” linked to age. So Shiseido Professional is launching Prosynergy, a hair care range (in professional and home care versions), using Shiso (Perilla Frutescens) extract to fight glycation, and Ononis extract, which makes it possible to activate production of the KAP5 gene.
